Product Details
Unicorn's Maestro players are master dart professionals, at the very top of their game and ranked within the top players in the world. They need the very best to help them climb the ladder. This is what they use.

Why tungsten for darts? The UniBoffin explains:
Tungsten is Swedish for "heavy stone" and was well-named, being one of the densest substances known. The pure metal weighs around 19gms/cc, and although this reduces slightly when it is combined with small amounts of, eg, nickel to produce a more workable material, the resultant alloy will still be 50% denser than lead and maybe twice as dense as brass or steel.

Dart barrels in high percentage tungsten alloy can hence be far thinner for a given weight and length than ones made from more traditional materials, which obviously helps to avoid bed-blocking and allows three of them to nestle nicely in the treble 20 with room to spare. Another advantage here is tungsten's exceptional hardness, which means those nestling barrels will be resistant to damage.

To improve on tungsten as a dart barrel material is theoretically possible (a case could be made for, eg, platinum/iridium at over 21gms/cc), but in practical terms it's pretty much the ultimate!

Important Info:
  • The dart you order should match with the barrel pictured. All other components of the dart (flights, shafts and tips) may vary in color, length and material upon receipt.
  • The diameter measurement is the fattest part of the barrel. The length measurement is the barrel only and is rounded to the nearest 100th of a millimeter.
  • The barrel length and diameter are subject to change by the manufacturer without notice.
  • Darts with any type of coating are not guaranteed due to wear and tear. Some manufactures do warranty their darts against fractures and breakage. However, coatings are NOT guaranteed (this includes titanium, graphics or any type of paint on the barrel). Also note that due to the nature of the PVD and Titanium Nitride coating process the final color can and will vary in hue and color distribution from dart to dart, this is especially noticeable in rainbow coatings. Each dart in a set of 3 can be drastically different from each other and from what is pictured online.
  • The use of grip assist points (grooved, etched or knurled) on steel tip dartboards may pull the fibers out. This may limit the life of your steel tip dartboard and void any manufacturer's warranty.
  • Please call with any questions if you are concerned about the components of your dart.
