The darts that have come out this year for the Target 2021 Launch have been very striking, different and cool. The RVB95 G4 Darts are no exception! You can see a stunning tri colored black, silver and gold. One of the most successful dart players in history, Raymond van Barneveld demands no less from his darts than he does from his performance.
Raymond van Barneveld's Legacy
The RVB95 G4 Darts are the manifestation of Ray’s obsession with the game. The winner of 29 PDC titles, walked away from the sport after the 2020 World Championship only to return less than a year away to try again with an evolved mindset.
The Barney Army remains strong as RVB continues to be a firm fan favorite everywhere he plays. So he is at it again working with Target’s team to enhance his player dart and we hope to see him perform on televised events with his new generation 4 barrel.

Jen Mounts gives you an in-depth review of the RVB95 G4 Darts by Target (Raymond van Barneveld Generation 4 barrels). She covers several key features like overall manufacturing, design and grip intensity. Let’s break down each aspect and elaborate a little:
–Used by 5 x World Champion Raymond van Barneveld
The RVB95 G4 Darts are finished in a stunning tri colored black & gold PVD performance coating offset by a silver smooth section in the center and more silver nano cuts towards the front – each section with a completely different grip.
The gently front-loaded barrel encompasses three grips: knurling, milling and radial grooves, providing an unrivalled grip and feel. These are very time appropriate cuts along a classic RVB shape. Also something to note, Target added a little pizzazz to the bottom of the shaft as a unique design and grip reference point – it’s not actually a part of the barrel so don’t get confused there.
Just like the year prior, the RVB95 G4 Darts are fitted with a Swiss Fire Points, whilst the soft tip is dressed in a black pixel tip.
The Swiss Firepoint Black offers enhanced board grip and the ability to change your point in seconds using the provided Swiss Point tool.

The Raymond van Barneveld RVB95 G4 Darts come in a steel tip and soft tip version with multiple barrel weights for each version.
The RVB95 G4 Darts are the classic RVB shape which is a super subtle bomber shape, but much longer than your typical bomber. The only difference between the steel and soft tip is that the steel tip has a more bulbous nose – slightly larger in diameter. Starting in the back half of the dart, we have pretty standard radial cuts evenly spaced. Then in the front half (where RVB himself grips) you start with a smooth section that goes into a gold knurled section interrupted by sharp nano cuts. Therefore, the front half is more aggressive than the back (not because of the knurling which is smoother) but because of the sharp edge of the nano cuts that separate the knurling.
We rate the grip intensity of the back half of the RVB95 G4 Darts a 2½ out of 5.
We rate the grip intensity of the front half of the RVB95 G4 Darts a 3 out of 5.
RVB himself has a 2 finger grip on the front of the barrel then rests his middle finger on the point. He seems to have a lighter touch on the barrel and needs those nano cuts to offer more grip so his darts don’t slip during release.
